Top Tier Authentics and Mr. and Mrs. Bourbon Company — the whiskey brand established by former University of Louisville basketball star Russ Smith — announced Thursday that they are teaming up to deliver a series of product releases and fan experiences that will kick off at The Basketball Tournament on Friday in both Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky.

Fans in attendance will be able to scan a QR code on the jumbotron to claim a TTA Attendance Badge, which will grant them benefits like a chance to win sports memorabilia authenticated by TTA and a meet-and-greet and shootaround with Smith.

Founded in 2014, The Basketball Tournament is an annual single-elimination tournament. Teams compete for a cash prize of $1 million. Mr. and Mrs. Bourbon recently released a single-barrel bourbon alongside The Basketball Tournament. The 95-proof bourbon is available here.

Additionally, Mr. and Mrs. Bourbon will release multiple specialty bottles featuring TTA’s authentication technology. These bottles will feature a TTA QR code, allowing scanners to guarantee the authenticity of their bottle and unlock access to future releases, discounts, private barrel picks and more.

“This collaboration with Mr. and Mrs. Bourbon exemplifies the potential of TTA’s experiential platform to revolutionize consumer interactions with premium products,” TTA CEO and co-founder Dima Azarenko said in a news release. “Our technology not only guarantees the authenticity of their bourbon, but also enriches the consumer experience through unique and unmatched benefits, including access to exclusive meet-and-greets, special barrel picks, future product releases, and more. Partnering with TTA allows brands to redefine consumer experiences, and elevate their brand to new heights.”

Furthermore, Mr. and Mrs. Bourbon and TTA say they’re exploring other uses for TTA’s technology, including collaborations with NIL programs supporting student athletes and custom wedding experiences with labels designed by Mr. and Mrs. Bourbon Company Cezy Linzey.

“Partnering with TTA allows us to bring a new level of innovation to the bourbon industry, exclusivity and trust to our brand,” Smith said. “This advanced authentication technology not only protects the integrity of our products and eliminates counterfeiting in the industry, but also enables us to engage our loyal customers in unique and memorable ways. Through this partnership, our customers can expect new transformative experiences, featuring unparalleled access to significant personalized benefits, custom labels, barrel picks and more. By claiming a Mr. and Mrs. Bourbon TBT Attendance Badge, consumers will also gain exclusive first-access to our upcoming collaborative bottles with the University of Tennessee and the University of Louisville.”
